We can all help each other. Our campus community is responsible for actively participating in recognition of concerning and threatening behaviors as well as for reporting such behaviors to the Threat Assessment Team.

Keeping Our Community Safe

Body

We can all help each other.

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is committed to the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Threat Assessment Team strives to prevent targeted violence by employing a proactive, evidence-based approach to the assessment and management of threats posed, or potentially posed, to or by members of the university community. The program seeks to identify and offer supportive resources for involved and impacted individuals.

The campus community is responsible for actively participating in the recognition of concerning and threatening behaviors, and for reporting such behaviors to the Threat Assessment Team. It is not always possible to know the significance of any single behavior taken out of context. We ask that you report knowledge or observation of individuals exhibiting behaviors to the team so that we may assess the situation and provide what assistance and support may be needed. If this is an emergency that involves an imminent risk of harm to self or others, please contact campus police and dial 911.

Body

Some people take setbacks in stride, but for others, resentment and anger may build up. You can be the catalyst that helps a person get off the escalating pathway to violence. The Threat Assessment Team is here to help you if you find yourself in a disruptive situation.
